How far is the ski hotel from the slope?

The cable car on the “local mountain” of The STORKS – the Schlossalm – is most easily reached on foot or by ski bus. This bus practically departs from the front door of the hotel and takes you to the Schlossalm slope in no time. The highest point of the famous ski area Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel is the Hohe Scharte station, located 2,300 meters above sea level. This is where one of the longest descents in the Eastern Alps begins. Alternatively, you can drive to the slopes and park at the base of the cable car.

If you prefer not to store your skis at the slope but want to bring them back to the hotel: The STORKS offers plenty of space for your equipment in the heated ski cellar. Our tip: With a valid ski pass, you can reach the lifts throughout the entire ski area from The STORKS using the free ski bus for you. This includes the Graukogel and Dorfgastein-Großarl.
